Inspiration
In this verse, John highlights the ultimate manifestation of God's love for humanity: the sending of His only begotten Son into the world as a propitiation for our sins. Through this act of sacrificial love, God offers eternal life to all who believe in His Son. John urges his readers to not only receive this love but also to share it with others, as they are called to be witnesses of God's love to the world. God's love for humanity surpasses human understanding and is founded in His everlasting righteousness, justice, patience, and grace. His love was demonstrated on the cross, where He sent His only Son to pay for the sins of the world. The love of God is completed in those who believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. Jesus not only preached about God's love during His time on earth but also demonstrated it by sacrificing His life as a ransom for many. As believers who have received salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone, we should bear witness to God's immense love for humanity by surrendering ourselves to His service.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that You have sent Your Son as the Savior of the world. I believe and declare that Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of my soul. Help me to walk in the truth that You have revealed to me through Your Spirit and to share this truth with those around me. May I be a witness of Your love to others as I abide in You and You in me. Thank You for the gift of salvation and the assurance of eternal life in Christ. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
