Fear is something we all experience from time to time, but it hits us all differently. Some are afraid of heights, others fear dark, and some are afraid of speaking in front of people or being alone. Fear can come in many different forms, but they all aim to stop us. Fear stops us from doing more, saying more, and being more. It holds us back and prevents us from doing what God has called us to do. So, how can we overcome the fears that hold us back? We can start by focusing on God’s love. As we read today's Bible verse, we are reminded that God's love is perfect, and there is no fear in His love. The more we focus on the fact that God loves us and that He has provided everything we could ever need to do what He has called us to, the more we realize that fear doesn’t have a hold on us any longer. The moment we start focusing on God's love for us, fear loses its grip on us. We're no longer afraid because we trust God to take care of us in every situation and every circumstance. Additionally, Christ has already taken all of God's wrath and paid the full price for our sins, so we no longer need to fear God's punishment. Without punishment, there can be no fear. Through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are perfected in God's love. If you are struggling with fear today, think about God's love for you. As you shift your heart towards love, fear will leave!
Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that fear often invades my thoughts throughout the day. I know that if I am afraid of things in life, I am not trusting in You. Father, let me be immersed in Your perfect love, where fear has no place to stay. Release all the negativity and worries from my heart so that it can be filled with peace. Thank You for Your perfect love for me and may I love others as You have loved me. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
