Inspiration
The popular saying no pain, no gain is a truism for the birth of anything. Whether it’s an idea, an invention, a company, or a family that is birthed, times of pain or suffering cannot be avoided. In the course of one’s life journey, painful experiences seem to be inevitable, especially if they are aimed at the greater good. Many of the inventions of technology we enjoy today were a result of the sacrifice and pain of the inventors. Even the Holy Bible was produced upon the blood of martyrs, let alone our salvation came with a costly price – the blood of Jesus. Anything that will outlive a generation and be of eternal value usually does not come easy. In the above verse, Paul stresses the fact that his suffering and persecution for the sake of the gospel were not in vain. Instead, it provided the opportunity to witness to more people who became additions to the kingdom of God. He was particular about the praises and glory unto God as a result of the salvation of the people of Corinth. He was more concerned about shining the light of the gospel of Christ and spreading the grace that brings salvation. Irrespective of the situation we find ourselves in, we should ensure that our light shines so brightly that the world will give glory to God.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your incredible grace and for the gift of salvation that You have given me. Thank You for the great love and mercy that You have shown me through Jesus Christ. Help me to share this message of hope with those around me that they, too, may come to know Your love and experience Your salvation. Give me boldness and courage to speak Your truth, even in the face of opposition or persecution. May my life be a reflection of Your love and grace, and may Your name be glorified through all that I say and do. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
