Inspiration
Have you ever heard someone say something that seems to be a complete contradiction? In fact, you may have read this verse written by Paul in 2 Corinthians 10 and thought the same thing. How could someone be sorrowful, yet always rejoicing? How could someone be poor, yet make many rich? How could someone have nothing, yet possess all things? These are valid questions, yet the answer isn’t necessarily in words but rather in perspective. What Paul is talking about here is the difference between the world’s perspective and the perspective of those who are in Christ. When you add Christ to the equation, everything changes. Though Christians may go through times of sorrow, they can always rejoice in Jesus. Though Christians may be poor, they make many rich by spreading the good news of His Gospel. Though some Christians have nothing, they possess all things because Jesus is everything. “If you lose everything but gain Jesus, have you truly lost anything?” a pastor once said. Jesus is everything and no matter what happens to us in this life or what we may lose, if we still have Jesus, we have already won.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son. Thank You for the gift of eternal life that came through His death, burial, and resurrection, and thank You that I can enjoy that gift every day. I ask that You guide me in this truth in my daily life. Help me to realize that it isn’t about what I have or don’t have but merely about the fact that I do have Jesus and that He is everything I will ever need. Thank You for being my Savior. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
