Inspiration
There is a thrilling message in this verse that Peter delivered to the Israelites on the wonderful Day of Pentecost when the Church was born. The judgments of the human courts were overruled by God, who was the appellate judge. Throughout Jesus' life, He was wrongfully accused, wrongfully convicted, and wrongfully executed. The fact that He was sinless made it impossible for Him to remain dead. In order to atone for our sins, He willingly sacrificed His sinless life. However, as the eternal God who does not die, He rose from the dead, ending the power of sin, Satan, death, and hell. According to the Scriptures, those who believe Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose again as per His work on the Cross will not perish but will have eternal life. It is freely available to all, just as Peter stood up on that first day of Pentecost and spoke these life-changing truths. Salvation is a free gift available to everyone who believes. Nevertheless, please do not forget what it costs for God to give His dearly beloved Son to hang on the Cross as a sacrifice for sin. In addition, please do not forget what it costs the Lord Jesus to go to the Cross on your behalf.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, what a blessing that Your holy name is so relevant today as it was in Peter's first sermon. God raised Jesus from the dead, ending the agony of sin for those who believe in His name as Peter spoke to the men of Israel. Thank You for sending the deathless Son of God to become a perfect and sinless member of the human race. His sacrifice was to pay the ransom for my sin with His precious life. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
