Verse
Ephesians 3:16
That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
- Strength
- Holy Spirit
- God
- Inner Man
- Faith
Inspiration
In this verse, Paul continues his prayer by focusing on God's glory. "Inner being" refers to the spiritual part of a person. He wishes the Holy Spirit would work in great power in the Ephesians' spiritual lives. It was similar to what Paul experienced throughout his ministry. In truth, this power did not come from emotions but rather from humble prayer. It is clear that Paul does not pray for an outward demonstration of miraculous signs or miracles in the lives of believers. Rather, Paul is referring to an inner spiritual vigor that builds faith in the truth of God's Word. This secures and strengthens an unshakable trust in His promises and precepts. Paul knows that seeking the kingdom of God first is important. Let us follow Paul's example and pray as he did as we also bend our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Likewise, let us intercede for our brothers and sisters in Christ so they may receive a super-abundant blessing flowing from God's infinite kindness and divine riches.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us how to pray passionately for the body of Christ through Paul's example. Please teach me to pray for every member of the Church according to Your will. I pray that Your Spirit will strengthen all those who are called by Your name through Your Spirit in accordance with Your glory and grace. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
