Inspiration
Do you struggle to live in the Spirit daily? As in, do you know that you have the Spirit living in you, but you struggle to actually listen to Him or produce the fruit of the Spirit that we are all called to bear? Don’t worry, you aren’t alone. Every single one of us struggles with the battle between our flesh and the Spirit that lives in us when we are born again. Although we still desire to do the things of the world, we now have new desires within us - desires to please God and to obey Him in all things. Yet this doesn't mean we follow the right desires every time. Paul’s plea here to us is that if we desire to live in the Spirit and experience the blessing, peace, and growth that the Spirit brings to our lives, we must also walk in the Spirit. We must live in obedience to what the Spirit tells us to do. Our actions cannot be separated from our beliefs. In what area of your life do you need to work on walking in the Spirit? What parts of yourself do you need to bring under obedience to God? Pray about these things today and ask God to help you walk in the Spirit.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us Your Spirit that we might walk in Him and listen to Him in all things. Even though I don't always listen to the Spirit, I pray that You would increase His voice within me and help me to follow Him in every area. I cannot do this alone, but the Spirit can help me to follow Him. I pray that You give me the strength to choose the right path and that I will be able to love You in obedience each day. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
