Inspiration
This verse is a powerful reminder of the importance of obedience in the life of a follower of Jesus. It's easy to call Jesus our Lord and Savior, to sing worship songs and attend church services, but true faith requires more than just lip service. Jesus calls us to obey his commands and follow his example in our daily lives. Sometimes, we may find ourselves struggling to obey Jesus' teachings. We may be tempted to prioritize our own desires or the opinions of others over the guidance of Christ. But when we do this, we are essentially saying that Jesus is not truly our Lord. We are putting other things above him in our hearts and minds. Take a moment to examine our hearts and ask ourselves if we are truly following Jesus' commands. Are we living our lives in a way that is pleasing to him? Are we loving our neighbors as ourselves? Are we forgiving others as Christ has forgiven us? Let us strive to be obedient to Jesus' teachings, not just in words but in our actions and attitudes. May we truly make Jesus our Lord and allow him to guide us in all aspects of our lives.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, I submit to You as my Lord and Master. I know the flesh contends with my decision to obey and serve You with all of my heart, strength, and soul. So, I ask for Your help in keeping Your commandments. I ask that You help me to not only call You Lord but also obey You as my Lord. Let me not be a hypocrite who draws near to You with my mouth but not with my heart. Make me a humble, submitted servant, Lord. In Your name I pray. Amen.
