Inspiration
The psalmist here gives thanks to God because He has answered prayer, and in doing so, has become the psalmist's salvation. Thanksgiving follows God’s deliverance, and this gratitude flows from the experience of personal salvation. When God answers our prayers and brings salvation, it’s natural to respond with thanks. The act of salvation is not only a past event but a continuous process of deliverance from life's struggles and temptations. The psalmist praises God not only for the final deliverance but for the ongoing faithfulness in life’s journey. Giving thanks to God is a way of acknowledging His role as our Savior, and recognizing that He is the source of every good thing in our lives. When we remember the ways God has answered us and saved us, our hearts are filled with joy and our lips with praise.
