Psalms 25:4

Inspiration
In this verse, David addressed his prayers to Yahweh, the covenant-keeping God, even though he was surrounded by pagan nations that worshipped false gods. In this statement, David demonstrated a deep devotion to God. It was an intense prayer. Prayer can be a means of lifting our souls to the Lord, as David and Jesus have shown us. As Christians, we place our hope in God, our Savior, throughout the day and at night. Therefore, it is essential to learn the ways of the Lord. It is imperative that we discover which paths He would like us to follow. The Word of God illuminates our path and illuminates the path that God desires for us to tread. God's Word is both an instruction manual to explain His ways and a love letter to all His children. The prophets were the means by which God spoke to our ancestors in the past. However, now He has spoken to us through His only Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. To know the ways of the Lord, to learn the lessons He would teach us, and to follow the path that He would have us tread, let us die to self and live unto the Lord.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for caring about our happiness and for holding our earthly lives firmly in Your hands. Please give me a teachable spirit and a desire to know what You want me to know. Please maintain my separation from wicked men's ways and guide me in the path you have set for me each day. I pray that You will open my eyes as I study Your Word and grant me the ability to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit throughout the day. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
