Inspiration
Life is surrounded by uncertainties that can scare us to our bones. No matter how spiritually grounded we are, once and again, we come across situations that get our attention. The more abrupt they are, the heavier they may be. We call them cares, because they are things we care about. There are times when the people we love face unpleasant situations. It may be a life-threatening illness, an accident, a job lost, or just anything around those corridors that will get us worked up. These are all cares that steal our peace and have us worried. However, although we may face these things from time to time throughout life, we have the consolation of a loving God who cares for our souls. You are the object of God’s affection. Meaning, while you’re worried about family, cars, etc., God is worried about you. The Psalmist teaches that God can console us just the same way a lover’s soothing words can quench a raging fire in the soul. Throughout the Scriptures, God has made us aware of His love and affection for us. When we dig into the Scriptures, we find consolation in our time of need; we find hope that carries us through the downtimes. Receive God’s consolation and be cheered up!
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your care and consolation. Thank You for the words You have spoken over me. I know that You want me to have life and have it to the fullest. I know You want me to live in peace and prosperity. I know that even while I may be in the deepest pit, You have a plan to give me an expected end. I am confident that my hope will not be cut short because You are faithful and will bring to pass every good word You have spoken over me. Let me dwell in Your love and comfort. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
