Inspiration
We were born dead in our trespasses and sins, estranged from God, and condemned to an eternity in hell. However, because of our faith in Christ Jesus, our Savior, all of our sins—past, present, and future—are forgiven, and we are set free from all unrighteousness. If Christ's work on the cross has already done all that is necessary to forgive us, why do we need to continuously confess our sins and ask for forgiveness? The forgiveness that God purchased for us through Christ's death and resurrection is the forgiveness of judgment and condemnation. It was immediately completed by the blood of Jesus Christ. Although the power of sin was broken at the cross, it still seeks to maintain authority in our lives, and when we sin, our Father grieves because He loves us so much that He refuses to leave us in our sinful state. When we confess our sins, He rejoices and is ready to restore us with His mercy and compassion. God's rage at your daily sins demonstrates His love for you. God desires to heal you, so He is making a promise to you and me today that we will no longer have to hide or carry the weight of our sins around with us. He is willing to forgive and cleanse us of it all.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your mercy and love. I admit that instead of pursuing Your wants and following Your disciplines, I have been sidetracked and following my own interests. I beg You to forgive me for my selfish actions, disobedience, anger, envy, and disrespect to others. Lord, keep me from doing anything that offends You. Make me pure and holy by cleansing me of all unrighteousness. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
