Hebrews 11:5

Hebrews 11:5
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
- Faith
- Obedience
- Salvation
- God
- Testimony
The writer of Hebrews explains how faith leads to God's blessings. Unlike Abel, who was violently murdered, Enoch never had to suffer the pain of death. Though their earthly lives ended in radically different ways, both have received God's acceptance. The Lord is working toward the fulfillment of all of His promises, even though we are unable to see them right now. Therefore, believers are not guaranteed success in the mortal world. Enoch was taken before the floodwaters of judgment were poured out on the wicked, corrupt, pre-flood generation. As with Enoch, we may not know the exact time or date when the Lord will arrive for us. However, as this godly patriarch, we should walk in daily fellowship with our Father and enjoy sweet communion with Him. By doing this, we will be prepared for the day when He takes us to be with Himself in the clouds. The Lord was pleased by Enoch's walk of faith. Our heavenly Father is closest to us as we walk in close communion and intimate fellowship with Him through faith in His Word. By doing so, we, too, become pleasing to Him. Like Enoch, we anticipate Christ's return at any moment, when we will be caught up to meet the Lord Jesus in the air.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus as the sacrifice for my sin. Thank You for giving me forgiveness of sin and life everlasting through trusting in His death, burial, and resurrection. May I live my life in a manner pleasing to You and by faith. Thank You for your grace towards me today. Please help me to be strong in my weakness, knowing that Your grace will be sufficient for every step of this earthly journey. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
