Inspiration
Have you ever felt like you were wasting your time with all of the stress and worry in your life? I don’t know about you, but sometimes I feel like an entire day has passed, and all I did that day was stress about various things. However, this isn’t the way that God calls us to live. Instead, Jesus asked a very simple question: Who can add time to their lives by stressing and worrying about things? The answer is, of course, no. You can’t possibly add any time to your life by stressing or worrying about things. In fact, it seems to take time away from your life instead! Therefore, we should rather trust God with the things that we are stressed about and give them up to Him. When we do this and focus on Him rather than the things that are bothering us, we can live fulfilled lives and be effective for His kingdom. We can be free to fulfill the purposes that He has set before us and to be the people He created us to be. Stress takes away life, but focusing on God brings life in abundance.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being a place of refuge that I can run to when life is giving me stress and worry. Thank You for the wisdom that is written in Your Word that reminds us of important truths such as these. I pray that You help me to focus on You wholeheartedly in my everyday life. Please help me to see You in every situation and to put my focus on seeking the kingdom of God first instead of the things that worry and stress me. I thank You for all that You have done and continue to do in my life. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
