Matthew 26:4

Inspiration
According to Jesus, the religious leaders of Israel would condemn Him and hand Him over to the Romans for execution. According to Matthew, this is exactly what the chief priests and elders intended to accomplish by working together. In Matthew, many of the events leading up to Christ's death and crucifixion are described in detail, including His arrest and lawless trial. Throughout Scripture, we are told everything we need to know about His passion and cruel treatment. As we read these first few verses of Matthew 26, we learn of an evil conspiracy orchestrated by these religious Jews in stealth. There was no surprise in Jesus' response to the evil plot to stealthily seize Him and murder Him in secret. It is foolish to think that the hidden secrets of our minds and the shadows of darkness can be concealed from the almighty God. Let all of our words, our meditations, and all of our thoughts be acceptable to our heavenly Father and to our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, You have given us everything we need for life and godliness in the pages of Scripture. Please allow my heart and mind to be opened to your scrutiny and that everything I say and do will have Your honor. I pray that any evil plotting today to dishonor Your name and shipwreck the faith of Your people will be exposed. Thanks for sending Jesus to be the sacrifice for my sin and for taking the punishment I deserve so that I could be declared righteous in Your sight. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
