Inspiration
In Matthew 6, Jesus teaches about prayer. Prayer is the best and most important thing we can do every day. It's our personal and private time with God. Jesus makes it clear that using generic or repetitive language is a pagan practice and should not be used in Christian prayer. It's simple to get caught up in mindless platitudes, using the same lines in our prayers repeatedly rather than reflecting on them or allowing them to flow from the spirit. When we pray, we should be focused on God and give Him the respect He deserves, for He knows what we need before we ask Him. God doesn't require, desire, or demand endless repetitions of prayers. He doesn't need to hear us in fancy and precise language. We do, however, need to communicate with modesty and authenticity. Long before we ask, God already understands what we need. He will hear, comprehend, and respond when we talk to Him simply and directly. Although He already knows what is in our hearts and minds, as such a good and loving Father, he desires that we speak with Him about everything. Don't let today pass you by without praying. Our Father is waiting for us to talk to Him in prayers!
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You that as I pray right now, nothing I say will surprise You. I may forget what to ask for, but You know what I need and supplement my prayers with them. I am so grateful for that. I want to speak from the bottom of my heart when I come to You. Help me to be authentic, as it is impossible to keep secrets from You. I am so blessed to be able to speak to You directly, Father. May I bring You glory in everything I do. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
