Inspiration
As this verse reminds us, we cannot protect ourselves without the cover, shield, and buckler of God. There is no security outside of God's protective wings. When we turn our backs on God, we become vulnerable to the enemy of our souls. It is God's presence in our lives that provides true protection against the enemy's attacks. The Lord's faithfulness is a shield and buckler for those who trust in Him, and His pinions cover us with protection and provide refuge beneath His wings. The Lord's promise is to protect our lives from danger, to guard our minds from discouragement, and to shield our hearts with His unwavering peace. It is such a blessing that we have been accepted into the Beloved, kept under His protective wings, and covered by His pinions. He will never fail us nor abandon us, for Christ is our assured defense and our faithful protector, and His sure pledge rests in the One who is faithful and trustworthy. As we live in Him and stay under His protective covering, may we always remain mindful that His promises are true and His mercies are fresh every morning.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You, for that no matter what the circumstances are that threaten my life, there will be no evil or harm that the enemy can inflict upon me, except as You permit for my eternal good and the glory of Your name. As Your child, I thank You that my days are in Your hands, and I pray that I may grow closer to You, day by day, and enjoy the comfort of your protective wings. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
