Psalms 23:5

Psalms 23:5
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
- Abundance
- Blessing
- Provision
- Protection
- Joy
This verse describes the generosity of the host, our Lord, who provides a banquet for us at His blessed table. He also anoints us by applying a soothing oil to our heads. It is our faithful God who feeds the hungry multitude, provides comfort for the grieving, gives strength for the weary, and offers hope for the afflicted. In addition, He offers salvation for those who trust in Christ Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins. Through this well-known and often-repeated psalm of David, we discover that our heavenly Father supplies all our needs in accordance with His riches in glory through Christ Jesus, our Savior. He pours anointing oil over our heads as a soothing ointment of His never-ending love for us. All His children have been given this promise, for we have been made kings and priests of the living God. We can certainly proclaim with David's psalm, "My cup runneth over," since His grace is limitless, His love is unending, and His mercy endures from generation to generation. Let us spread his blessings upon others through what we have been given.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the comfort and strength You gave me. Thank You for providing all the things I need according to Your riches in glory. You are my God and Savior. Indeed, You have prepared a blessed table before me in the presence of my enemies and have anointed me with oil of gladness. Your blessings never cease overflowing into my cup. Please allow me to spread the blessings you have given me to others. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.
