Inspiration
Among all the spiritual gifts that we receive from God, love is the most significant exercise in our spiritual living because it is the ultimate purpose of human existence. God's love is the reason this world exists and why He wants to spend eternity with us. Paul describes some of the characteristics of real love in the letter that he wrote to the Christians in Corinth. These people were surrounded by corruption and sins and struggled with their environment. 'Charity Suffereth Long' teaches us that love is long-tempered; if a heart is filled with love, people have a long time before they become angry. Love is kind, and love does not envy. God always provides what we need when we believe that he is looking out for our best interests. God loves us so much that He sacrificed His one and only son, Jesus Christ, to pay for our sins so that we can be free and be with Him forever. There is no greater love than God's, and because we have God's love, there is nothing we need to envy. Love is not boastful or prideful. If one's heart is full of love for God, he will be full of humility, for he knows that everything we have comes from God; no one is humbler than the man whose sins have been forgiven.
Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, when I can’t control my emotions and anger, I pray You fill my heart with love so that I can have more compassion towards others. Help me to always be kind to others and not be jealous or arrogant. No matter what I do outwardly, the most important thing I can do in this life is to love You and to love others. Help me share Your everlasting love with the people around me and bring honor to You. In Jesus’s name I pray. Amen.
